Meet The Team

Director of Operations
Lizzy Denkers, BSN
Lizzy oversees all staff, operations, admissions, community outreach, treatment plans, and communication with outside agencies. She ensures the entire process from the client starting the program until finishing runs smoothly and each client has the best experience possible at Action. Lizzy is married to her spouse of 12 years, and they have two children together. She loves to trail run, ski and skyski.

Clinical Director
Charlie Osborne, LCSW
Charlie has chosen to work with individuals who suffer from addiction because of a strong connection to this population. He was raised around addiction and recovery and is also in recovery himself since 2009. Charlie believes that one of the greatest purposes in his life is to be a conduit in an individual's journey in recovery. Charlie is married to an amazing wife and is the proud father of two beautiful young girls and the proud stepfather of three wonderful teenagers.

IOP Primary Therapist
Philip Mitchell, CSW
Philip works at Action because he loves working in addiction and it’s a great environment with a great staff. Phillip aims to offer clients someone who will meet them where they are and assist them in finding their best self. Phillip is in recovery as well and has 10 years of sobriety. He is extremely passionate about the amazing quality of life that recovery provides. Phillip loves to bike and play disc golf.

PHP Primary Counselor
Kevin Bowers, LSUDC
Kevin is the counselor for day treatment. He loves working at Action because there is gratification to see clients take his words, actions and theatrical feedback and use it to better their lives. Kevin has a unique way of explaining circumstances, situations and concepts in a way that is practical, understandable and the clients can relate. He has a deep passion for counseling, cooking and cleaning. Listening to music and watching movies are Kevin's favorite leisure time activities

Psych Nurse
Cathy Perry, BSN
Cathy is our Psych Nurse here at Action. She loves working with all of our patients because it feeds her soul. A few things Cathy enjoys doing are raising chickens, playing with her dogs, hiking, and riding Harleys.

Lead Peer Support Specialist
Jim Morgan, CPSS
Here at Action, Jim oversees the techs and ensures the flow from day to day runs smoothly. He sees that the clients are taken care of and doing well by performing drug screens to overall well being. Jim loves to golf, hike and work with people who are new to recovery.

Assistant Peer Support Specialist
Ray Brock, CPSS
While stationed in Italy, Ray helped ferry in relief supplies into the Italian countryside devastated by a major earthquake that killed over 3,000 people. He was one of seven service members that were awarded the Italian Humanitarian Medal for our efforts over those 3 weeks. Here at Action Recovery, Ray has a special passion for helping others out of the darkness of addiction. He says; "Recovery isn’t just about staying sober, it’s all about redefining and living our best lives."

Office Manager
Whitney Cordova
Whitney oversees all of the consultations, admissions, and the day to day office functions. She offers the clients compassion and empathy, while also giving them a reality check mixed with some tough love! Whitney had been sober now for almost four years. She has a boyfriend, a young son, an infant daughter, two dogs, and a cat! Whitney enjoys helping people and enjoying all the great things Utah has to offer her family.

Case Manager
Amy Harris
Amy is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and couldn't be more excited to be graduating this spring. She has worked in the medical field for over 15 years and has loved the opportunity to expand into substance abuse recovery as a part of the Action family. Amy has a big beautiful blended family and two dogs that she loves more than anything. She enjoys doing anything outdoors, especially hiking and camping.

Tech
Diana Brammer
Just a couple of months into her own treatment, Diana knew she wanted to work at Action. She has a deep desire to give addicts what was given to her. Diana loves her job and it fills her heart every time she is there to help. Diana enjoys watching the growth and change in the clients and seeing their lives get to a place they could have never before imagined. She says; "Life is amazing today, there are always going to be bumps in the road, but I have tools and my recovery to fall back on and a new way of thinking."

Russ Sweeten
Russ loves working in recovery because it saved his life 2 1/2 years ago. He wants to share the new way of life he was given by fellow people in recovery at Action. Russ loves helping people so they too can experience the amount of joy it has brought to his own life. Russ has been married to his wife of 9 years and has two amazing sons.

Tech
Marco Hernandez
Marco's goal of working in this field is to help young people find their way to a sober life at an early age. He says "It doesn't take years of trial and error, but if it does, I will be there to help!"

Admit Therapist
Shawn Thompson, LCSW
Shawn holds a bachelors degree in psychology from Weber State University, and a masters degree in clinical social work from Utah State University. His clinical work experience includes inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment, psychiatric crisis intervention and acute psychiatric inpatient care, adolescent residential treatment and family therapy, and general outpatient psychotherapy. For most of his life, Shawn has lived along the foothills of the Wasatch where he enjoys all the mountains have to offer: trail running, backpacking, mountain biking, rock climbing, snowshoeing, and skiing.

Yoga Instructor/Tech
Tricia Buss
Tricia is a RYT Yoga Instructor & certified personal trainer through NFPT. Her mantra is "Fit and heathy is a Journey not a destination". Tricia has been working at Action for several years and absolutely loves every person that has walked through the doors
